The cool water flowed through her hair, her tail propelling her body forward. She could see it, the top of the water where the air and sky touched. Her heart pulsed, adrenaline pulsed through her veins.
She knew she would lose her chance if she slowed down, Hinata pushed her body to the limits trying to get to the surface. Tonight was the night where his boat would be in the perfect spot, he was there every night. She loved this time of the day, just being able to see his face was her highlight. As she neared the surface, she popped her head out quietly, her happiness trying to be concealed to not be caught by anyone by the splashing noises.
Her pale eyes looked all over the place before they landed on him, talking to one of his comrades. His face was grumpy, his eyes narrowed. Hinata couldn’t hear what they were talking about, so she swam closer, her green tail making a soft splash. She waited, waited for him to be alone so she could see his true emotions that he always hid. She loved to see him drop his mask, it made her feel like she could be closer to him, at least in some way.
She saw things that other humans would never see, she was special to him in her own way, at least, that is what Hinata told herself. Her heart beat sped up, her palm touching the side of the boat.
“Come on, Sasuke! We need to turn the boat around and go home!”the blonde boy huffed at him, to which the man just brushed him off and glared more.
So… his name is Sasuke. Hinata watched as the raven haired man turned his back to the blonde, looking out over the ocean. The mermaid and Sasuke were so close to each other, Hinata held her breath.
